Now Boarding Ep. 4
Live Streamed May 3 | 7 pm EST. Written and Directed by Cristina Soare
Featuring Zack Steinberg on guitar.
The complexity of this psychological drama called for more complex audio descriptions. It was my pleasure to have Zack join me in this episode to help fill out the full, dronal Middle Eastern sound. Christina, the director, liked the sound of French music as well as Middle Eastern music to accompany the scene. And I found writing in the Middle Eastern style to be more comfortable than the French! The episode grows darker as it progresses, and the harmonic density carries this extra weight. The meltdown is visceral.
The show begins about 10 minutes in.

The premise of episode 4, “In Transit” is based on real-world issues – women’s rights in Saudi Arabia. From there, the story unravels in surprising ways impossible to anticipate. The director’s personal experience living in the Middle East flows throughout each facet of the script. Inspired by Margaret Atwood’s literary masterpiece, “The Handmaid’s Tale”, Cristina explores human emotions and behavior in times of tragedy from the women’s perspective. However, there’s much more to it than meets the eye, so prepare for a shocking ending. Join us for the unsettling episode 4 of this short anthology series, in which 3 stories intertwine and ultimately clash with devastating results.
